FireAngel received an email from a customer in Holland, detailing events from the 28th August. The customer who won’t be named for privacy reasons starts by describing the day as “the beginning of a nightmare”. He goes on to describe how just before noon, whilst out celebrating his daughter’s 3rd Birthday, he received a call from his neighbour.
A “fast burning” fire had started, caused by a technical error in a “mains block extension adapter”.
The customer’s email goes on to detail how as a result of having installed a FireAngel WST-630 system, the “enormous loud noise of 5 smoke detectors” alerted the neighbours, who went to the house.
The customer thanks FireAngel for “the great products on the market” noting that because of the FireAngel system, the family dog (who was still at home) survived and is well. What’s more, although lost is the house contents, the house itself was saved and there is no damage to neighbouring houses.
Thankfully, this family had a working smoke alarm system installed.
FireAngel would like to reiterate the importance of working smoke alarms. The UK’s Fire and Rescue service recommend that “everyone should have at least one smoke alarm on every level of their home and the safest option is to have those linked together. This will give the earliest warning if there is a fire.”
